We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t show third-party ads, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account: your name, email address and password (stored securely by our authentication provider), or the information Apple or Google shares when you use their sign-in (your name and an email address, which may be an Apple private relay address).
  • Profile and preferences: the home area you pick (a place name and map point), your search radius, and the sale types you follow.
  • Sales you host: title, description, type, date and time, address, cover photo, item photos, prices and condition, payment methods you accept, and whether you hide your address until sale day.
  • Activity with others: messages, hold requests and their status, reviews you give and receive, reports you file, saved sales and reminders, and sale crawls you save.
  • Support: anything you send us when you contact support.

Information collected when you use Porchly

  • Location: with your permission, the app uses your phone’s location to find sales near you, measure distances and give directions. Your live location is used on your device and isn’t stored on our servers. We store only the home area you choose and the addresses of sales hosts post.
  • Usage events: when you view a sale or item, tap for directions, or share a sale, we record that event with your account so hosts can see totals and we can improve Porchly.
  • Purchases: Apple processes all payments. We receive confirmation of your subscription status and, for Boosts, the transaction ID and which sale it applies to. We never see your card details.
  • Technical data: our providers keep standard logs (such as IP address, device type, app version and timestamps) to keep the Service secure and working.

How we use information

  • to run the Service: show sales near you, publish your sales, deliver messages, holds and notifications;
  • to send account emails, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password;
  • to keep Porchly safe: verify accounts, handle reports, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms;
  • to show hosts how their sale is doing (totals of views, saves, messages and direction taps);
  • to understand how Porchly is used and improve it;
  • to follow the law and respond to lawful requests.

How information is shared

With other Porchly users

Your public profile (name, initials, neighborhood, host and buyer ratings, badges, sales hosted) and the sales you post are visible to others, including through shared links and yard-sign QR codes. Reviews are public. Messages and holds are visible to the people in that conversation. If you hide your address until sale day, buyers see your neighborhood until your sale starts.

With service providers

We use trusted companies that process data on our behalf, under contracts that limit how they use it:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage and real-time messaging;
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, Maps and directions, and In-App Purchase;
  • Google — Google sign-in, if you choose it;
  • Cloudflare — hosting for porchly.shop;
  • Resend — sending account emails.

For legal reasons

We may share information if we believe it’s required by law, to protect someone’s safety, or to protect Porchly’s rights. If Porchly is involved in a merger or sale, information may transfer as part of that deal, and this policy will continue to apply.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, sales, items, photos, messages, holds, saved sales, reviews you wrote and notifications. We may keep limited records for longer where the law requires it or to resolve disputes, prevent fraud and enforce our Terms (for example, reports involving your account), and backups are cleared on a rolling schedule.

Your choices and rights

  • Edit your name, home area, radius and sale types in You → Settings.
  • Location: turn location access on or off in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Porchly. Porchly still works with your saved home area.
  • Alerts: choose which alerts you get in Porchly’s Settings.
  • Delete your account anytime in You → Settings → Delete my account.
  • Access or correction: email privacy@porchly.shop to request a copy of your information or ask us to correct it.

Depending on where you live (for example California or other U.S. states with privacy laws), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain uses of your personal information. We honor these requests and won’t treat you differently for making them. We don’t sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children

Porchly is for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact privacy@porchly.shop and we’ll delete it.

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls that limit each account to its own data, and secure sign-in through Apple, Google or our authentication provider. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your device locked.

Where data is processed

Porchly is based in the United States, and our providers process data in the United States and other countries where they operate. By using Porchly, you understand your information will be processed there.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
